I saw such an arrangement in Encinitas CA, back in the day. I don't think anyone knew he had a dozen hives in his backyard. Just a fence is all it took. On the other hand, you might try camouflage painting.
When I lived in So. Calif. getting and keeping bee yards was the hardest thing about beekeeping. Now that I live in rural NY, I could have my pick of locations; seems like everyone wants bee hives in their yard or field.
