Yes, that is probably true, but I am trying to keep the synthetic wax out of my hives and the products that I sell so would be using it as a marker. 

If a colorant and beekeeper education that their wax cannot be sold back would keep the synthetic wax out of the supply, it may work, but beekeepers have a lot to keep track of already. We already have miticide residues in wax. Do we need to diminish the quality further?
