What happened in the minds of people that erected shrines in the
middle of the desert? What caused the need to create places of
worship?
The cult sites, altars, shrines, menhirs and standing pillars, tumuli,
rock art, and anthropomorphic cult-stones of Har Karkom, disclose the
dimensions of rituals, traditions and beliefs of the tribal world in
the desert of the biblical Exodus, birthplace of monotheism. What are
the archeological discoveries telling us about the background of the
present-day main religions?
