There is a 3 acre garden run by a local church that donates all veggies to various local food banks. The are considering bees on the property to assist with pollination and enhance their eco-profile. I'm mildly interested, but have this question: what would be an appropriate hive density for this 3 acre patch for adequate pollination? I have only one hive that I'd be able to contribute. Woefully inadequate?
