PCR is a VERY sensitive tool, resulting in several erroneous "findings"
about *Nosema ceranae* and DWV-A.
There has been a long debate as to whether DWV actually reproduces in
varroa body tissue, as opposed to in the fat body tissue within its gut.
To accept the results of this study, I'd want to see an immunolocalization
study, such as the excellent (open access) paper below:
