Hi Alvin & All

I’m not old enough to remember 1870, although when I started with bees in early 1970’s, we paid $12 Cdn for a 2# package which included a mated queen picked up locally.  The $12 paid the producer for his/her bees, the shipping cage, the local vendor for his trip to Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi & profit.
