Why can you not just remove the Honey frames you wish to (possible) keep in the spring, Shake the bee and let them return to the hiveTreatLater that day or the next return the frames to the hive
Doesn't sound like a commercial operation so efficiency doesn't really matters. Mark the frames you treated (or didn't treat) and remove what's left in the spring.
This way you can have your cake and eat it to.
