I have had a new queen superceded shortly after starting laying; probably the brood stages imbalance mentioned. I have not personally noted queens being killed due to minor inspections but then I do have pretty laid back bees. I have had the workers start cells on eggs from the old queen and first eggs laid by a new queen. I feel that I want to check for and destroy these started cells. Especially so if the new queens genetics are strongly desired above merely having the colony requeened. Using the 25 days no peaking advice, I would lose the opportunity to find these started cells.
