I sample (alcohol) monthly Apr-Nov, every one of my 10 and for sideliners
(when they hire me) every 3rd hive until I reach 10 in a yard. We can't
have more than 20 per yard around here.
Apr-Jun I treat 1 mite/100 bees. This helps to delay summer
thresholds/treatments until it's a bit cooler and supers are off.
Rest of the time anything over 2/100.
I do an OAV between mid-Dec and end of Jan.
So far I've been able to keep losses to < 20% with the 'soft' chemicals,
but last year was tough.
I'm stationary along the Font Range of the Rockies, VERY dry.
Cheers,
