I make no claim of being a geneticist, but doesn't every gene function like
a single component in a complicated electrical circuit?
The entire circuit might be able to work without it, but could have a
different outcome from a change in the single component switching the
circuit in a different direction, similar to how the sex determination gene
can switch on the "feminize" cascade.
Or am I missing something?
