That's interesting.
I know that we had a very late freeze in this region which damaged many if
not all the plants. Many trees failed to bloom and the bees were desperate.
Perhaps there's sap leaking from one of the species or a fungus that is
affecting a local species that I am not aware of?
The honey is certainly not bad tasting, it's just not consistent with the
few descriptions of monofloral black gum/tupelo honey I've read.
