Christi Heintz, who was a founder of Project Apis m., has passed away.

I don't need to write up a summary, as it is very well-done here by those
who knew her best:
https://ptwob244.wixsite.com/christi/her-story

Cruelly, after working so hard for the good of stinging insects, she died of
a severe allergic reaction after being stung by a bee, wasp, or other
vespid.

She knew she was allergic, and carried an Epi-Pen. Why she never went to an
allergist to get the series of shots that can easily cure anyone dealt this
horribly bad hand of genetic cards is unknown.

There are 3 different shots that make sense to get in the same series of
visits - Honey Bee, Wasp, and Mixed Vespid. They can do mosquito too, if
you react badly to them. I know all this detail because after years of
beekeeping, my wife had a very bad reaction to a sting she got when docking
a sailboat in up in CT, so likely a yellow jacket attracted by
fish-cleaning.

We are far more fragile creatures than we want to admit. Every time we
travel somewhere off the beaten path, the doctor treats me like a pincushion
with injections, so there's more than Covid-19 and SWAT Teams of Giant
Asian Killer Hornets out there.

Take care.
