"So, a female diploid drone. A true clone"
I doubt that very much. There are a variety of ways a diploid egg can be formed without being fertilized by a sperm. Failure of one of the cell divisions during meiosis or fusion of an egg with a polar body are a couple of ways. As long as that diploid egg has different sex alleles on the two chromosomes it would form a normal female. For sure that female is not a clone of the mother as the egg goes thru cross overs before the cell divisions that form the egg.
