Kris,
In the Middle Atlantic we have been using aerial photographs for many years
as they show numerous details that are not typically shown on maps. The
quality varies but some show incredible detail. You should check out
https://www.historicaerials.com/ . They have watermarks so that you can not
use them in reports but you can look at them and zoom into your area. They
also have a feature that allows you to slide different years over the same
area to show you the changes and they also have current and historic USGS
to boot. Historic aerials are considered a crucial tool that show changes
to the landscape and buildings over time. There are other sources where
these images are free but historicaerials.com is very convenient to give
you quick answers before purchasing or spending the time to retrieve
free copies.
