Agreed. But Brother Adam was able to carefully control his queen and drone matings. In the absence of owning private estates or islands, and/or setting up for artificial inseminations, no matter how carefully bred the queens I buy might be, I lose control of the gene pool to the local drone congregation area.
And most of us are either making our own wild mated queens or buying local wild mated queens. What can we do to improve those local gene pools?
