The skeletal remains ARE those of a shrew of some species (Order: Soricomorpha rather than Rodentia).
Here in N. America our two smallest shrew species occur mostly in the eastern states & provinces.
The tiny pygmy shrew occurs in Paul's area of eastern Washington State but not into Randy's area.
There are a number of shrew species throughout N. America and I suspect that all of them would feast on sleepy bees, given a chance...
