no snips but a bit of explanation and then pointing towards an article to see what folks here think..
I have a large pile of old ABJ and Bee Culture magazines dating back at least to the mid 1970. These are hard to get rid of but I do hate to burn all that information (reasonable some good and some not so much). I have made a choice not to add to the pile but I still like to review what both publication put out and therefore I go down to my local Barnes and Nobels and jones the publication there while enjoying a cup of coffee.
I see the newest edition of the ABJ has just come out and hope all will read the article by Dr McAffee (hope I got the spelling correct!) and please do note the last paragraph as it is a quote by John Kefuss as to what he think selection is really about.
As a side bar I see in a recent article concerning a genetic solution to varroa my good neighbor Danny Weaver reported that his first year of going down the treatment free route that he had 9 survivors in a group of 1000 hive dedicated to this program. Which should provide bench mark for anyone that wanted to try and depilate his efforts...
