Thanks for sharing your data. When I look at the graph, what I see is that the hive temperature is almost at its lowest point in October, months before the solstice. Then at the solstice, the hive temperature ramps up, again before the coldest time of year and before the days are appreciably lengthening. In other words, they do not respond to lengthening days but anticipate them. They therefore must be on an annual cycle which starts in midsummer.
