There is quite a lot in the literature regarding pollen analysis for the purpose of identifying floral sources of honey. I will have a look at the methods used ASAP (e.g., pollen reference libraries?) See https://www.airborne.co.nz/polanalref.shtml
The CBI PRODUCT FACTSHEET: MONOFLORAL HONEY IN THE UK is of interest. “In order to determine the flower origin of a certain honey, the method of pollen analysis is frequently used by the honey industry, where the amount of pollen identified can determine whether a honey is of a certain origin” (p.2).

Traynor says “If you are marketing honey into the European Union and you wish to label it with the botanical species, it must be predominantly of that nectar source. This is determined via a detailed honey analysis: a microscopic pollen analysis, chemophysical and organoleptic test" (Traynor. 2015. "Honey." THE HIVE AND THE HONEY BEE. p.678).
Me thinks there must be a number of commercial entities that do pollen analysis related to monofloral honey regulations, marketing, import requirements, etc. Does anyone on this LISTSERV know of any such entity? What are their methods of pollen analysis?
