" Then I started shopping around and found the lows around $130 and the
highs at or above $175"
A lot of time the devil is in the details. I did the same kind of shopping around. I found some suppliers sold out for the season already. I also found those $130 or $140 per package prices were for pick up in the deep south. Add in UPS shipping and a $140 three pound package is $190 at your door in the north. It sure does not seem there is any lack of demand at all based on "sold out" and active list prices. Sounds like I should raise my over wintered nuc prices. What is an over wintered nuc which is ten frames of bees and five frames of brood worth compared to a $200 three pound package? The problem is I see ten deep doubles for sale after almonds for $200 before shipping.
