David, do you have any evidence that that does not work with vaporization?
Oxalic acid sublimation does work. Two applications at 7 days apart do give up to 90% in our research. Keep in mind if we treat 3 or 4 times, all depends on the brood in the hives. If you treat early and still brood in the hive then mites will be still under the caps. Therefore, you need to treat more to get the mites as they come out with emerging bees. The whole idea is to cover the capped period of 14 days no matter how you split the application times and period, the final determining factor if there is any brood left and contain mites.
So monitor and decide if you need another treatment. As Randy said oxalic acid sublimation would w3ork for 3 days at the most 5 days.

Medhat
