Wow! All beekeeping is local.

>Bigger is not better in this case and anyone who has fed pollen like patties in an area where small hive beetles are a problem learns quickly to make the patties very very small.  This of course means you also have to add more labor and fuel to the final bill if you wish or need to feed pollen patties.

>As an aside any hive that does not gobble up the small patties is a pretty good indication that the hive has a basic health issue.
