 >I have had an absolute miserable spring so far. Six inches of snow this week. Last week end only some of my hives had eggs and zero larva in the ones I checked. The latest I have ever seen a queen start to lay in the past was one that did not start until April 1.

Last week when it temporarily got into upper 50's/lower 60's, I went through 6 hives at my workplace. 5 of them had brood; about 5 inch circle of capped brood, and a ring of eggs around/in the vicinity of that capped brood. The brood pattern was spread among 2 frames. Compared to previous years, this is the least amount of brood seen in the hives at this time of the year.
