> And yes ... the irony of considering the ethics of a small number of
experimental bees with the 'suffering' of poorly-managed, mite- and
virus-riddled colonies is striking.

I'm up against this all the time when beekeepers gasp at the thought of a
quick death of 300 bees in alcohol, compared to allowing DWV to cause the
suffering a death of a colony of 50,000.
