SHIM named it Parasitic Mite Syndrome. Despite the snickering about PMS, it's probably not far from the truth, in you are a bee.
PMS sufficed for many years. I really dislike the idea of renaming things, just because one can.
PMS/VMS
Artificial Insemination/Instrumental Insemination
Global Warming/Climate Change
IPM/Treatment Free (really?) Seems TF is IPM without the PM
I spent my entire career writing grant and contract proposals. Among the federal agencies, one finds that certain terms have a shelf life. Once it's expired, the replacement phrase is simply a dodge to reference the same issue or concept, it's just re-packaged.
One may say - it's for clarity. I might say, it's often used to hide something, e.g. Global Warming is now a pariah, Climate Change is more acceptable.
