While US based beekeepers may not be eligible to become certified organic,
we can still apply to become Certified Naturally Grown, as certification
for apiaries is permitted.

Scrolling through their apiary standards (
http://www.cngfarming.org/apiary_standards) it appears I already follow 95%
of their standards, and the remaining 5% wouldn't be difficult to
implement. But it doesn't appear many people elect to go that route. Those
within 200 miles of me that received the certification I've never heard of
before.

Generally, there are mixed reviews about Certified Naturally Grown. From
what I've read, some view it as synonymous with a certified organic farm.
Others view it as a worthless certification, or border on some type of
"scam", although I don't think I'd ever go that far.

Has anyone on here received CNG certification for their apiary? Is it worth
the hassle? The organization appears to offer some level of marketing
assistance, but to what extent I can't determine. So I'm not certain the
costs, paperwork and time will return any level of benefit.

Anyone with experience care to weigh in?
