A Pesticide Decision-Making Guide to Protect Pollinators in Tree Fruit Orchards. Please share widely with anyone who may be interested.
A major focus of the new pollinator guide is on pesticide synergisms. For example, we know that exposure to some fungicides can increase the toxicity of insecticides to bees up to 1000-fold. Several fungicides that are sprayed in orchards, especially during bloom when pollinators are abundant, are beginning to be understood as a source of risk to bees. This information is not common knowledge among growers.
Over the next few months, Cornell will be releasing additional booklets for small fruits and veggies. All booklets will be free and downloadable at the following location:
