I ponder that question at length.

I've seen invasive species upend established ecosystems--usually to the
detriment of some long-established species. One question is, do we really
want to homogenize the ecosystems of the Earth (do we want McDonalds to
take over every cultural cusiine?).

Here in California, some nasty and weedy introduced plant species has made
it painful and bloody to move about or even survive (for a number of
species), although they produce delicious honey.

And how about the proud "Treatment Free" beekeepers who sentence their
innocent colonies to a slow and ugly death from varroa and DWV time and
again?

As far as another beekeeper setting down on top of an established
beekeeper, we are currently in the process of making such unethical action
illegal in our county.
