Others may want to jump in here. In my experience, drift is inevitable and inconsequential in a healthy yard.
However, in a yard that has varroa, not so much. I may have all good counts, even 0 counts in some hives in a yard, but if I have treatable counts in other hives I treat them all. No safe haven.
