Hi All
I occasionally suffer from bouts of LBI(lazy buggeritis). Several years ago, I had more deadouts than normal
and stacked some of the brood boxes five high with a pyrex pie plate, 2” rim and 500ml of glacial acetic acid on top. The next spring (one year later), LBI gone I dealt with the stack. I don’t know if I got rid of any nosema spores but there was absolutely no sign of of wax moths. I noted that Paul Kelly used aluminium pie plates for the acid. I use glass because I remember from chemistry class in high school that acids and metals may produce toxic gases such as WW1 nerve gases. Could chemistry buffs out there comment?
