Looking back through the TIGHAR forum , I see that a reflector for a kerosene fishing lamp was suggested last year.

Obviously the items from the Pacific Islands would have fitted a lamp with a smaller central hole than that illustrated - perhaps a lantern with a wick.

 I admit that only the search for Earhart's aircraft qualifies as
historical archaeology, but I am curious whether somebody on HISTARCH
might be able to throw some light on their function. They are each
some 20 cm in diameter.

 Other than what is on the TIGHAR link above, I know nothing about the
properties of these discs.
