Off hand, I would say that it is a "glass toy" cannon that was once filled with candy. I have seen cars, dogs, pistols, and battleships but I am not familiar with any glass toy cannons. The little knobs could be the trunions of the cannon. A quick search on the web should locate an intact specimen.

Subject: another mystery object

Thanks to those who responded to my "curtain finial". I'm confident that's what it is...now I have another object from the same deposit. It is clear glass, and looks like a handle with two knobs on one end (like it is meant to be inserted into something and the knobs keep it from coming out??). The end opposite the knobs is broken.

You can see it here:

Thanks in advance for any help...

Linda
