According to this calculator (https://westegg.com/inflation/), $10 "for a high quality queen" in 1870 would be equivalent to a bit over $200 today.
Inflation calculations prior to WWI are unreliable, though. For comparison:
According to https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/, $10 in 1913 would be equivalent to almost $260 today.
https://www.calculator.net/inflation-calculator.html puts $10 in 1913 at $257 today.
https://www.in2013dollars.com/ puts $10 in 1870 at $196 today.
So even though historical inflation calculations can be more than a little sketchy, multiple semi-independent analyses are converging on a general answer around $200. That works out to an average annual inflation rate of a shade over 2% per year over the century and a half since that article came out.
