The downside is to research is when administrators view COLOSS as definitive methods rather than guidelines.  I find times when I'm at odds with a COLOSS method.  Some  of our former students have found that their 'bosses' adopt COLOSS Methods to protect themselves, even if the Method doesn't 
'quite' fit - but it conforms to COLOSS.
