I'm happy to see Danny Weaver respond. I was expecting more of his
customers to do so. He wouldn't be in business if he didn't have return
customers. Thus, he's apparently had success at breeding a useful stock,
right in the middle of an Africanized area. Danny is also a molecular
biologist, and could likely provide evidence of testing of his stock to
back up his claim of his stock's genetics, if someone is so interested.
I've spoken with Texas beekeepers who are happy with the line; I've also
spoken with those such as Charlie who felt they were a bit spicy. I feel
that we should be careful on Bee-L not to disparage those who are actually
doing hard work at improving honey bee stocks. Talk is cheap; running a
business breeding and selling queens is not.
