You seem to be assuming that evolution will provide you with what you want. Doesn't work that way. While the bees are slowly evolving, varroa is evolving faster and even faster are the viruses. 

Your 100% right!,  it may not work at all.  I am also skeptical.  But I do know for sure that staying one step ahead thru mechanical manipulations will not get us there.
