Graham Kleinschmidt did a banking trial here in Australia many years ago.  One of his findings was that if queens are banked for more than around a month, when they are introduced to colonies they are most likely to be superseded within a  month or so of introduction.  Around the same time there were reports out of Canada that queens from New Zealand were being superseded within a  few months of introduction.  There was an item on our local TV at that time showing how long the New Zealanders were banking their queens and it was several months.
