That's true, and Doolittle's technique became universally adopted. However, what I try to do is manage my 20 hives *as if* I still had 500. In other words, no excess fussing with them. That way, what I do and what I learn can benefit most people, when it's shared. I avoid techniques that require juggling skills or expensive paraphernalia. Nothing wrong with those, just not for me.
