Hi Cindy, I found log crib dam construction at the Souther grist mill in
Quincy, MA. It was also used to narrow an estuary into a canal for a short
distance below the dam, probably to deepen the water for barges floating
Quincy granite down from the quarry to the sea where it was transported to
Boston just to the north, and also around the tip of S. America for use in
the construction of San Francisco's city hall.
