Dear friends and colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that registration for the Theoretical Archaeology Group 2019 conference in Syracuse is now open! This year's theme is slow archaeology. The "slow movement" is a response to the accelerated pace and tempo of scientific study in the modern age, highlighting instead the importance of social relationships, long-term engagements (both social and material), and careful contemplation and collaboration.
Our call for papers, a reading list for our theme of slow archaeology, and biographies of our plenary panelists Karen Barad, Jerimy Cunningham, Pamela L. Geller, and Uzma Z. Rizvi are available at our webpage www.tag2019.maxwell.syr.edu<http://www.tag2019.maxwell.syr.edu>. The deadlines for registration are as follows...
Session proposals - January 15th, 2019
Paper proposals - March 15th, 2019
Artist proposals - January 15th, 2019
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> with any questions or concerns. Check out our social media at the TAG North America facebook group and on twitter @Tag2019Syr. Thoughts on additions to our reading list? New "slow" ideas you would like to share? We would love for you to engage with us with the hashtag #tagslowarch!
See you in Syracuse!
All the best,
TAG2019 Coordinating Committee
P.S. If you would like to receive email updates about this and future TAG North America conferences please take a moment to sign up for the mailing list at www.tag-usa.org<http://www.tag-usa.org>.
