Peter- great find! Lots of gold in that load.

I especially like-"the rule, that is to select the method which results in
getting honey as easily as possible with the simplest apparatus, with the
least upset to the bees and which so accords with the instincts of the bees
that they are kept happy, content, and steadily working all through the
season."

Knowing the "instincts of the bee" is probably the difference between
George Imire's BEEHAVER and Beekeeper.

We here in Maine have been in below average temps and rain for so long that
next week, when warmth returns, it will be nice to be able to work our
bees- splits are on the schedule. We just saw dandelions two days ago so
should be a bit before swarms start.
