" I tried to get people to realize that Fraxinus (ash) is being collected by bees"
I live in the county. Woods and meadows and swamps and creeks. The most important pollens of the year, in my opinion, are in order of bloom soft maple, aspen, willow and sugar maple in order of bloom. All four are wind pollinated plants. All produce lots of pollen that the bees collect as much as six weeks before the first flowers which are dandelions and colts foot. They also collect nectar from the maples. The emerald ash bore has wiped out all the ash here, but it used to be important.
