I agree with Chris, in that antibiotics are precious medicines, that should
be used sparingly and judiciously, in order to preserve their effectiveness
(not to mention in order to avoid the adverse effects that they have upon
the beneficial gut microbiota).
I've checked a large number of bee samples under the 'scope for the
presence of nosema, as well as having spoken with others who perform such
services. The take home message is that a great many beekeepers are
wasting money on unnecessary applications of fumagillin.
