Just got back from a trip to the valley where I met with several beeks who specialize in almonds,  this was one of the topics,  and they all seem to start right at Christmas or New years.  It didn't seem to matter if they were north, central, or south,  some in the Bay area had already started.

This contrast a bit with Keith Jarrets (Nutra bee) who starts with a 4/5 lp shot in November, and repeats in Jan.
