My guess would be that if you took Arnot queens out into other areas and
managed them in dense apiary settings they would die as soon as any other
stock.
No need to guess. I asked Seeley this when he spoke to us about the Arnot
bees and he said they would die if they were put in an apiary with Varroa.
Also, I think most of us keep losing the picture on Varroa. They do not
kill our bees but virus do. So we need "virus resistant" bees. And
Darwinian beekeeping would need something that we have not been able to do
with humans. Especially since virus do not seem to want to remain as, so
the target continues to shift. BTW, did you get this years flu shot?
