I blame the lack of any data on Prof. Bromenshenk; his third level Master Beekeeper class this summer was so intense that I totally forgot to put the Flow Hive super on. By the time I wondered what that extra box was doing in the corner, the honey flow was over, :-(
Ok, I’m only half joking - the class kept us busy, but the research we did was immensely educational and fun. And I did forget about the Flow Hive because of other events. Poking around YouTube one can find a few videos people reviewing their experiences. Here’s a good one from a second cycle extraction from Flow Frames. Interestingly, it’s done with an open jar and while a honey flow is on. Bees seem not interested in what’s going on behind their hive in such conditions, only an occasional yellow jacket:
