Good question.  Live yeast is easy to spot under a scope in the bee gut.
It may also cause dysentery.  But I have no idea as to whether your brewers
yeast will do so.  Heating to 72C would likely kill it.  Easy to test by
adding it to sugar water and seeing whether it ferments.
