Two archaeologist positions are now open for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Southwest Region in Albuquerque. The positions are: (Regional) Archaeologist (GS-12) and Archaeologist (GS-11) and they close August 2 and August 16, respectively. At present the positions are open to various statuses of past and present Federal employees (including veterans and those that put in one year with Peace Corps or Vista). Indian Preference applies to these positions. Reimbursement relocation expenses are included with the positions. Check USAjobs for details and application.
These are fantastic job opportunities in (in my humble opinion) the best region of the BIA with a diverse group of tribes to work with in some really stunning landscapes and an unparalleled cultural resource base. Please spread the word widely to any that might be interested. If a suitable candidate is not found during this round, then they will be opened to all applicants.
