From a storage point of view I have added a little vinegar and sodium hypochlorite to my 50/50 syrup mixes as it is common knowledge that bacteria does not thrive as well in acidic conditions and by adding the sodium hyochlorite that would terminate any existing bacteria. I have found no ill effect from this in my colonies and find myself in a position of having an excess of pollinators in my area unlike the decline that is proclaimed in some of the Northern states. Anecdotal no doubt.
