Could you please explain the reason for going to the trouble of using the
double screen first?
In a laying worker colony, the bees are all old. Few if any would ever
revert to nursing (and even if they did, would do it poorly). I haven't
seen data, but suspect that when bees from a LW colony are combined with a
queenright colony that they'd all soon transition to foraging.
A two-week delay would simply allow more worthless drones to be produced,
and further age those workers.
What is the benefit of the delay with the double screen? I routinely
simply place LW colonies directly on top of queenright colonies and have
never seen any downside.
